Well at least for us... We are big dorks. We were going to go for a walk with the dogs but, we are sitting by the phone, waiting for a phone call from Bob. Bob is the man. He is the home study man that holds our fate as parents in the palm of his hand. We decided to go for it. We went to orientation about 2 months ago and were wondering how this was ever going to happen, but things we were worrying about have kind of just faded away. We still worry, but I feel like we both KNOW this is the path we are on right now and it feels good to acknowledge it.
Dan is also the man. He is the caseworker man who will handle our adoption after our home study clears. We decided we were going to start the home study last Friday and called, but he was out of the office because his wife was giving birth; ironic-- yes I know. I finally got a hold of him for the first time yesterday. He said that the next step is to have Bob call us. Then he will set up an interview and we pay the home study fee. Then we fill out paper work, he comes and checks out our house, we get physicals, and letters of recommendation, write a dear birth mother letter, and create an online profile. And then we wait...
...which is what we are doing right now. Waiting for Bob. Dan called Daren a little while ago to make sure he had our phone number right, which he did and said Bob would call. Daren also congratulated Dan on his new baby and offered to take the little one off of his hands if he was ever feeling sleep deprived. Dan gave a chuckle and said no. Now it is up to Bob. Bob we are here and are waiting!
In other non-adoption news: I had too much fun in Vegas. I want to go back. It was warm and sunny and I miss my wild women.
We finally picked a place for the Black Family Reunion. We are going to Reunion Flatts in Alta, Wyoming, July 2-5th. If you are coming please let us know!!!
Our puppy Chica is now almost as big as Chooch! She is so cute though, I will have to post a slew of pictures one of these days.
Grad school is grad school. crazy. If I can survive the next 3 weeks I will get a much needed break in May. My next class doesn't start until June 8th!
Daren starts school again next week. He is still working for Pinnacle and Ray's as a manager.
Spring break started for me today, though it is only a four day weekend this year. I have big plans! Tomorrow morning I have a scrap booking date with my friend Brita. Tomorrow afternoon I am going to get into the green house and make way for tomatoes. Saturday morning we are going to the temple, then afterwards we are going to go buy tomato starts and plant them in the green house. Saturday afternoon is filled with school work. Sunday is Easter and we are having friends over. Monday is a day dedicated to destressing by working my hinney off on grad school projects and organizing my classroom.
Only 33 days until the end of the school year and then 16 days of summer school!!!
Life is good :)

sounds like exciting news!! I can't wait to hear more!
Go Dan!!! Go Bob!!! Wahoo!!!!!
Maybe this is a dumb question, but what's a home study?
A home study is basically an evaluation that deems you fit to be a parent. One wise person once said normal people wait for 9 months then go through a few hours of labor to get their baby. Adoptive parents labor for 9 months (usually longer) with home studies, profiles, passalong cards, interviews, blogging, false starts, prayers and then finally, they get a call-- to wait for a few hours in the hospital to get their baby. Oh this is going to be an adventure...
